Too late to save the relationship

I ENCOUNTERED THIS IN FACEBOOK AND I GOT INTERESTED TO SHARE IT TO THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE ALSO HAVING PROBLEM WITH THEIR RELATIONSHIP. I CRIED HARD AS I READ THIS BECAUSE IT'S TRUE THAT THERE ARE MANY RELATIONSHIPS NOWADAYS RUINED BY SELFISHNESS, INFIDELITY, FINANCIAL PROBLEMS, ETC.

Married or not you should read this...

“When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I’ve got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes.

Suddenly I didn’t know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. I want a divorce. I raised the topic calmly. She didn’t seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, why?

I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man! That night, we didn’t talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to Jane. I didn’t love her anymore. I just pitied her!

With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30% stake of my company. She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces. The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. I felt sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not take back what I had said for I loved Jane so dearly. Finally she cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see. To me her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer now.

The next day, I came back home very late and found her writing something at the table. I didn’t have supper but went straight to sleep and fell asleep very fast because I was tired after an eventful day with Jane. When I woke up, she was still there at the table writing. I just did not care so I turned over and was asleep again.

In the morning she presented her divorce conditions: she didn’t want anything from me, but needed a month’s notice before the divorce. She requested that in that one month we both struggle to live as normal a life as possible. Her reasons were simple: our son had his exams in a month’s time and she didn’t want to disrupt him with our broken marriage.

This was agreeable to me. But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her into out bridal room on our wedding day. She requested that every day for the month’s duration I carry her out of our bedroom to the front door ever morning. I thought she was going crazy. Just to make our last days together bearable I accepted her odd request.

I told Jane about my wife’s divorce conditions. . She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce, she said scornfully.

My wife and I hadn’t had any body contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding mommy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of pain. From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes and said softly; don’t tell our son about the divorce. I nodded, feeling somewhat upset. I put her down outside the door. She went to wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office.

On the second day, both of us acted much more easily. She leaned on my chest. I could smell the fragrance of her blouse. I realized that I hadn’t looked at this woman carefully for a long time. I realized she was not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her face, her hair was graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her. For a minute I wondered what I had done to her.

On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given ten years of her life to me. On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again. I didn’t tell Jane about this. It became easier to carry her as the month slipped by. Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger.

She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, all my dresses have grown bigger. I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin, that was the reason why I could carry her more easily.

Suddenly it hit me… she had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart. Subconsciously I reached out and touched her head.

Our son came in at the moment and said, Dad, it’s time to carry mom out. To him, seeing his father carrying his mother out had become an essential part of his life. My wife gestured to our son to come closer and hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because I was afraid I might change my mind at this last minute. I then held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom, through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand surrounded my neck softly and naturally. I held her body tightly; it was just like our wedding day.

But her much lighter weight made me sad. On the last day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a step. Our son had gone to school. I held her tightly and said, I hadn’t noticed that our life lacked intimacy. I drove to office…. jumped out of the car swiftly without locking the door. I was afraid any delay would make me change my mind…I walked upstairs. Jane opened the door and I said to her, Sorry, Jane, I do not want the divorce anymore.

She looked at me, astonished, and then touched my forehead. Do you have a fever? She said. I moved her hand off my head. Sorry, Jane, I said, I won’t divorce. My marriage life was boring probably because she and I didn’t value the details of our lives, not because we didn’t love each other anymore. Now I realize that since I carried her into my home on our wedding day I am supposed to hold her until death do us apart. Jane seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst into tears. I walked downstairs and drove away. At the floral shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife. The salesgirl asked me what to write on the card. I smiled and wrote, I’ll carry you out every morning until death do us apart.

That evening I arrived home, flowers in my hands, a smile on my face, I run up stairs, only to find my wife in the bed -dead. My wife had been fighting CANCER for months and I was so busy with Jane to even notice. She knew that she would die soon and she wanted to save me from the whatever negative reaction from our son, in case we push through with the divorce.— At least, in the eyes of our son—- I’m a loving husband….

The small details of your lives are what really matter in a relationship. It is not the mansion, the car, property, the money in the bank. These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in themselves.

So find time to be your spouse’s friend and do those little things for each other that build intimacy. Do have a real happy marriage!

If you don’t share this, nothing will happen to you.

If you do, you just might save a marriage. Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.

Phil Younghusband has a girlfriend?

Is it true that Phil Younghusband has a girlfriend? There are intimate photos circulating in the internet of Phil and a girl (believed to be her real girlfriend) identified as Denisse Oca, daughter of actress Melissa Mendez. If the rumor is true, I am pretty sure many girls are heartbroken now. Cross your fingers girls because Denisse is denying the rumor.

Simplifying annulment in the Philippines

House Bill 3952 (An Act Recognizing Spousal Violence, Infidelity and Abandonment as Presumptive Psychological Incapacity Constituting a Ground for the Annulment of Marriage) authored by Bayan Muna Representative Neri Colmenares was created hoping that it will make annulment more accessible even to poor couples. As compared to a 10-year renewable marriage contract, I preferred this kind of bill in resolving troubled marriages. Under HB 3952, infidelity, abandonment or spousal violence is presumed indications of psychological incapacity. On the other hand, Atty. Evalyn Ursua disagrees and such is disputable by presenting contrary evidence.

PNOY: Shalani out, Barbie in

Did PNoy and Shalani Soledad called it quits? Rumors spread that the president and the Valenzuela councilor already broke up adding up the recent Saturday night date of the president at the Nuvo bar and restaurant in Greenbelt2. Personally, I find Shalani nice and really had a natural beauty without make up. She seems to be supportive even the tough times of the campaign prior to the 2010 Elections but now the relationship is said ended. This seems to be sad news for those who like PNoy and Shalani as couple.

Food for the Soul: The Story of An Empty Chair

I got a new visitor from the site and as a practice I return all the visits as much as possible. When I did my visit on this particular visitor I was moved by a story about “An Empty Chair,” a story of death and faith. After reading it I found myself asking am I afraid of death? Maybe yes but not for myself but I guess for the sake of my little kids. If only I can schedule it with God I would have probably do it long time ago. The worries and fears of a mother thinking how difficult it would be for her kids to live and face the world all by themselves made me really feel so afraid and uneasy. When I had a heart to heart talk with my 8 year old girl about her attitude and school matters, I reiterated to her the importance of her education and character. The reality also that I do not own my life and that I would be very happy to see her this early learning things and behaving well. Of course for my beloved husband that I can be with him for the rest of our lives to love and serve him. For my family who needs my help and service.

There maybe several reasons for a person to be afraid of death. To others it may not be the death that they really fear for but the thought of leaving their loved ones. For me I guess I would be ready to face and be with God when the time that my kids are already grown up living blessed lives and when I serve my purpose as a wife, a daughter and a sister. That would take pretty much long but that’s my wish I had to God. Even living in this world is really pretty tough I will still choose to be with my loved ones till that I and them know that its time to part ways. Leaving them will really make me feel sad but I know time will come that we will be together again to live happily forever in the grace and peace of GOD.

A man's daughter had asked the local minister to come and pray with her father.
When the minister arrived, he found the man lying in bed with his head propped up on two pillows. An empty chair sat beside his bed. The minister assumed that the old fellow had been informed of his visit. "I guess you were expecting me, he said. No, who are you?" said the father. The minister told him his name and then remarked, "I saw the empty chair and I figured you knew I was going to show up," "Oh yeah, the chair," said the bedridden man. "Would you mind closing the door?" Puzzled, the minister shut the door. "I have never told anyone this, not even my daughter," said the man. "But all of my life I have never known how to pray. At church I used to hear the pastor talk about prayer, but it went right over my head." I abandoned any attempt at prayer," the old man continued, "until one day four years ago my best friend said to me, "Johnny, prayer is just a simple matter of having a conversation with Jesus. Here is what I suggest." "Sit down in a chair; place an empty chair in front of you, and in faith see Jesus on the chair. It's not spooky because he promised, 'I will be with you always'. "Then just speak to him in the same way you're doing with me right now." "So, I tried it and I've liked it so much that I do it a couple of hours every day. I'm careful though if my daughter saw me talking to an empty chair, she'd either have a nervous breakdown or send me off to the funny farm."

The minister was deeply moved by the story and encouraged the old man to continue on the journey then he prayed with him, anointed him with oil, and returned to the church. Two nights later the daughter called to tell the minister that her daddy had died that afternoon. Did he die in peace?" he asked. Yes, when I left the house about two o'clock, he called me over to his bedside, told me he loved me and kissed me on the cheek. When I got back from the store an hour later, I found him dead. But there was something strange about his death. Apparently, just before Daddy died, he leaned over and rested his head on the chair beside the bed. What do you make of that?" The minister wiped a tear from his eye and said, "I wish we could all go like that."

Our love and relationship

Your Love Score Is: 100

It's truly love. You have an amazing partner and a wonderful relationship.

Your relationship isn't perfect, but you know how to work with each other to make it better.

You both listen to one another, give freely, and do your best to make things work.

While you have ups and downs like any other couple, you're good at getting through the bad times together.

And although you find it easy to love your partner, you understand that lasting love doesn't come easily.

You are both willing to give this relationship everything you have. And luckily, that's all it takes to make it work.

Are You in Love?

Hubby and I will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary on October 24. Time really flies so fast I just thought it was just a few years back but already a decade in reality. The relationship is not a perfect one but it helps me a lot as a person. Kind of hard to adjust on the first few months after being treated as a princess by my parents where everything is ready for me. Motherhood is not that easy to handle and manage too as well as being independent from anyone else you know. Everything in general was really difficult but I know without a loving and understanding husband like mine I can't surpass those adjustments. I am very thankful for having him in my life not only for the love and the family he gave me but for helping me be a better and tough person as I can be. Words are not enough to let him know my gratitude and love for having him in my life and for being such a good and supportive father to our kids.

Marriage: Trials & Triumphs

Marital life is not always a bed full of roses. Being married for almost 10 long years I could say that everyday of my life with my beloved family is still an opportunity for me to show how much I love them and what I can still do for them. There are tough times, yes, but as a family we managed to stand united and overcome those.
I am fond of reading articles about marriage matters and I could say that Mort Fertel’s so called marriage fitness is very viable. I found the approach effective. There are really ways and means on how to deal with troubled relationships but the question is what is the best way to deal with it. Mr. Fertel enlightened me on many things about relationship, the ups and downs. Many thanks to this wonderful guy for sending me messages that indeed very useful to us especially in going through the hard times without spending even a single penny. Try to check the site and be encouraged that indeed there is still a way to save and sustain your relationship. Thanks again and more power to your Marriage Fitness.
