Bad day @ Enchanted Kingdom

We were at Enchanted Kingdom the other day, May 16, to celebrate my daughter’s 10th birthday. Aside from the family we had with us my sister and her 2 sons plus my niece Mika. All of us had “Ride All You Can” tags so that everyone especially the kids will enjoy the world renowned amusement park in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

The day turned out unsatisfactory. First, we discovered that we had to rebook 3 tickets because it dated till May 14. We went to the Group Sales Booth to inquire and give it a try. The receptionist inquired to their office our concern and she said yes it can be rebooked at a cost of Php25.00 each. So we’re happy then to know the good news. I lined up to rebook and buy additional 1 ticket for my sister. When I had my turn the cashier said that it cannot be rebooked anymore and that their office overlooked the ticket’s date. What a disappointment? In rebooking tickets the date is the first one to look for and yet they overlooked it. Without them saying "yes, it can be rebooked" we will not be expecting anymore and we will just buy new tickets.

The second disappointment is the “Flying Fiesta” ride. My son was not allowed to ride because of height requirement of 47 inches and he was 46 inches. We thought that since there are two-seater seats hubby can ride with him to secure his safety. In the end my son was not really allowed to ride. He cried and got tantrums because of that. That was the first ride he really wanted to try. He is kind of adventurous and really wanted to ride all even the “Space Shuttle” ride. If your son is like mine better send him to Star City because there are less restrictions there and more rides are available to kids. You can get your money’s worth especially for kiddie rides. I do understand rules but it is kind of hard to explain to kids that rules. All they know is that amusement park is for kids who love to ride and enjoy.

The last concern is the line up for “Rio Grande Rapids” ride. It is okay to line up but the space provided for the riders is really uncomfortable and difficult. I guess the picture speaks for it. Riders are like prisoners waiting for their turn. Just hoping they will change the line up procedure for the sake of the kids who really love to ride this one.

We like EK but I guess changes or improvements especially for the sake of the kids will be given priority so that they will get to enjoy the park and not only magic will stays in their mind but happiness and satisfaction.

30-foot Zip line @ Splash Island

Last March 28, journalists from print and broadcast celebrated MEDIA FAMILY DAY @ SPLASH ISLAND. Said event was attended by reporters, writers and broadcasters from different networks and radio stations together with their families that truly enjoy a day of aqua filled adventure in the well-maintained and world class facilities of Splash Island.

Hubby and my kids tried to ride on the 30-foot zip line of the resort. The harness put in place then went up to the 30-foot structure, fastened the harness on the metal cord and ride. They rode together on the first way then separated on their way back. It was indeed a joy ride and more rides to do on our next visit.

Summer getaway @ SPLASH ISLAND

Yesterday, April 4, the family had a great time in one of the biggest and amazing resorts of the country. The SPLASH ISLAND in Biñan, Laguna is re-opened by Global Gutz Parks Philippine Inc. where you can experience a complete aqua thrills and adventure among the many facilities and amenities in the island. I would like to thank my son’s godfather, Airport Reporter Raoul Esperas, for a great accommodation and for a fun-filled day the family had experienced. I’ve been to several resorts but this place is one of a kind.

As a token of appreciation, parts of my succeeding posts are details about Splash Island: the rides, twisted slides, amazing pools, amenities and facilities. It is a great place for families, group of friends and even corporate employees to deal with the heat of summer in this amazing island full of great things to enjoy with.

Kiddie rides and more

In our visit to Enchanted Kingdom, hubby and I decided to go noontime so the kids will have a great time riding and exploring the park. We arrived past 12noon and we went home after the park announced the closing. We were able to watch the weekend fireworks display of the park at around 8pm and then resume with the rides until closing time at 9pm.

Below are other rides and shows the place has to offer to its local and foreign visitors. Other rides are closed like Condor and Jungle Log Jam for maintenance.

Water rides

Portabello’s Rio Grande Rapids

Before you take your ride, be sure to wear your jacket or better yet an overall raincoat, LOL. It has an 8-seater boat that will pass thru the running water and bumping with the big waves of water will really make you wet from top to bottom. At first, we thought that jacket would be enough but we were wrong and that made us so wet, hehehe. I didn’t have any extra clothes for the kids so we bought new ones inside the park.

Bump N’ Splash @ Midway Boardwalk

This ride is just near Anchor’s Away. It is a motor boat ride that can give you a slight flash and cannot make you so wet as compared to one above.

Swan Lake @ Jungle Outpost

My boy was not able to ride in Bump N’ Splash due to height requirement so we transferred to this ride. The que line was quite long and slow moving but the kids wanted it so we just waited for our turn. The Swan had 2 and 3 seaters, a direction controller and pairs of pedal. You need to keep on pedaling to make the Swan move and its kind of exhausting coz I rode it with my 4 year old boy who can’t do the pedal thing so mommy needs to bear with it, hehehe.

Rides for the brave ones

In continuation of my post about our recent visit to Enchanted Kingdom, below are some pictures of the rides inside the theme park. The place is indeed for the whole members of the family. There were different rides perfect for the kids and there were others that can test the adventurous and brave adults out there.

Spaceport’s Space Shuttle

This is one ride perfect for those adults who want to experience a 360 degree turn around while riding in fast pace coaster. To some, just at the look of the ride declined to try it but for others who kind of brave and willing to be turned upside down (like me, hehehe!!!) this is a must try ride. Just remove your eyeglasses, anything hanging on your neck or maybe heavy stuff in your pockets as you may lose them.

Anchor’s Away

It is the rides that will make you hold your breath as the ship continue to sway left and right, higher and higher. Even when you knew that you are locked up in your seat, you can’t avoid to scream as it goes high in the air and make you feel that you will fall on the ground especially if you sit at the far back of the ride.
