Jessica Sanchez in the Philippines by September

In September this year, AI runner up Jessica Sanchez will visit her mother’s native country as the “American Idol LIVE! Tour” makes its Manila stop. Jessica will be performing at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on September 21 for the 2012 edition of the said tour as confirmed by Ovation Productions.

The 16-year-old Pinay pride will perform alongside the Top 10 contestants of the 11th season of "Idol," including current titleholder Phillip Phillips. The Philippines is the only country outside of North America that is included in the two-month tour, and is slated to be the finale show of the "Idol" finalists.

Last year, the Top 10 contestants of the 10th season of "Idol" visited the country for a two-night concert. Their tour stop in Manila was the finale show of their concert series.

Vice Ganda bested Anne Curtis, Divine Lee, and Cristalle Henares, for winning the Best Costume Award as chosen by Kylie Minogue herself during her “Kylie Minogue: Aphrodite” Manila concert.

The comedian was sitting with Cristalle Heneras, Divine Lee, and Anne Curtis, and they were described by Kylie as the group who looked amazing. But she chose Vice Ganda, who’s wearing a Kenneth Chua creation, as the “best dressed” of the night.

David Foster & Friends Live in Manila

Araneta Coliseum was flanked by more than 10,000 fans during the highly successful “DAVID FOSTER & FRIENDS LIVE IN MANILA” concert last Saturday. Charice wowed the crowd with her versions of “Power of Love,” “To Love You More,” “All By Myself,” “Pyramid” and “The Bodyguard.” She also performed with Natalie Cole, the Canadian Tenors, Peter Cetera and Ruben Studdard. The group rendered their final production number to honor Michael Jackson.

Charice @ David Foster & Friends in Mandalay Bay

In “One and Only Hit-Man David Foster and Friends” concert held in Mandalay Bay Events Center last October 15, Charice wowed her fans in 2 show-stopping performances. She sang a group tribute song to Michael Jackon as well as two other songs "To Love You More" and "All by Myself,” which were both popularized by Celine Dion. I saw the TV report on this concert and Charice was indeed fabulous.

Korean superstar Jung Ji-Hoon or Rain failed to show up in his own press conference at the Manila Hotel last Monday. It was organized for his concert dubbed “Intensity” to be held on September 11 at the SM Mall of Asia. But the unfortunate event was due to misunderstanding of the date. It is supposed to be September 9 and not September 6.

David Cook & David Archuleta Live in Manila

Charice met Mariah Carey @ Andre Agassi benefit concert

Charice was one among those A-list superstars of the music world that performed in this year’s Andre Agassi Benefit Concert at Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas to benefit needy children. After singing with her idol, Celine Dion at Madison Square Garden, this sixteen-year-old Filipina singer from Laguna met and hugged superstar Mariah Carey before the show proper. "I am very happy and I home I'm gonna sing with her soon, I wish! You're beautiful. It's so nice to meet you. She's so cute! I love you Filipinos, thank you," said Carey.

International stardom is almost at reach for Charice. She got the chance to sing with her long time idol and the song "Because You Loved Me" was personally picked by Celine dedicated to Charice’s mother.

While playing the video, I felt very proud for Charice. Celine Dion has a long introduction of her and you can hear nothing but praises and admiration not only on her craft but also with what Charice had been through at an early age.
