Manny Pacquiao's P25M yacht
Personal View: I guess Manny should not have been criticized for wanting a P25M yacht as a gift to his precious family. On his part, he may have been thought about and paid it before the disaster happened. He can afford it while at the same time extended his help to our fellow Filipinos in Mindanao out of his personal money.
What is important is we all try to extend our help to our fellow Filipinos, cash or in kind, the help that really comes from our hearts. Together we can be able to help them start a new life and give hope that they can move on from our support and the government as well.
Let us look forward for the coming 2012 with positive outlook in life, good words and deeds, and work together for our beloved country because the worst is yet to come, as experts said so.

Muscle Stimulator
What is Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) or also known as Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES)? What is the importance of Muscle Stimulator in the medical field? It is a kind of therapy wherein electric impulses are being generated by a machine, travel through electrodes on the patient’s skin and then into their muscles that bring about muscle contraction. The process involves restoration of muscle tone and strength to the patients undergoing through physical therapy. This electrical muscle contraction enables patients who are unable to exercise in the usual manner due to incapacity for whatever reason to still develop muscle tone and strength.
How NMES machine works? At a safe current rate, the machine conducts electric currents to the muscle. It will start first by placing self-adhesive electrodes to the motor points onto the desired muscle or muscle system. Slow adjustment of the machine is needed until the patient feel the current passing through the skin and into the muscle. Remember, the higher the setting is set, the faster the muscle will contract and relax. Repetition of the process will depend on the desired result the patient want to achieve or is of satisfaction. Patients with diabetes or who have recent muscle damage can benefit from the use of these muscle stimulators. Likewise, these can prevent muscle atrophy and amputation on patients with unused limbs by stimulating the muscles and prevent decay from disuse.
In the U.S., the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) regulates the sale of all electrical muscle stimulators. These muscle stimulators are considered devices and may cause harm to its users like shocks, burns, bruising, skin irritation, and pain that is why strict regulations must be implemented to protect and ensure the safety of the consuming public. Getting muscle stimulators from reputable supplier is very important because it also ensure the user that it goes under FDA regulations and it’s safe from use.

SC Chief Justice Corona impeached
A total of 188 congressmen signed the impeachment complaint against Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona for betrayal of public trust and culpable violation of the Constitution. The House secretary-general was ordered by the plenary to endorse the said impeachment complaint to the Senate, where a trial will commence on 2012.
Summary of the impeachment complaint vs CJ Corona
Senate ready to hold trial for Corona
Corona impeach trial to start in 2012: Enrile
More than 150 sign impeachment rap vs Corona
Palace distances self from oust Corona calls
Minority ready to block Corona ouster
Corona impeachment 'mother of all blackmails' - Lagman
Personal view:
SC Chief Justice Corona, the people is not considering your silence as a sign of weakness but I hope you will be able to defend yourself against all the accusations in the impeachment complaint. But does the House of Representatives needs to impeach you? I may not be an expert in law but you can feel the strong resistance of Filipinos against you. You accepted a post included in the so-called “midnight appointments” and by accepting such position you deprived the incoming president duly elected by the people to choose his Chief Justice among the nominees prepared by the Judicial and BarCouncil.
Resigning from your post I think will be the most appropriate and noble act to do amidst these controversies. We all love our country, we all respect our Constitution but the country needs to move on with a Chief Justice clear of any bad accusations, someone who has integrity and full trust and confidence of the Filipino people. The Supreme Court is the highest court of our country and if there are people who need first to respect, value and uphold the importance of the institution that duties lies on the Chief Justice and Associate Justices.

No to Mining in Palawan, let your voice be counted
In support to the advocacy of the “Save Palawan Movement,” I am wholeheartedly giving this space of my blog to help in the awareness campaign of the movement to save our fellow Filipinos in Palawan, and the country in general. I am encouraging every Filipino around the world to take a look at this issue and let your voice be counted. Be part of the ten million signatures and help stop mining in Palawan.
The Save Palawan Movement, a multi-sectoral coalition of concerned environmental, legal religious and other civic groups launched the “No to Mining in Palawan” signature campaign last Thursday (February 3) in the hope of putting an end to mining activities in Palawan, known as the Philippines’ Last Ecological Frontier. The campaign aims to raise ten million signatures to deliver a strong message to the Philippine and Palawan governments so that they would finally say no to mining in Palawan and help protect one of the Philippines’ last remaining treasures. Present at the launch were ABS-CBN Foundation Managing Director Gina Lopez, Palawan Mayor Edward Hagedorn, “running priest” Fr. Robert Reyes, environment leaders Clemente Bautista (Kalikasan People’s Network for the Environment) and Atty. Jose Andres Canivel (Philippine Tropical Forest Conservation Foundation), and Rhodora Angela Ferrer of the Catholica Educational Association of the Philippines. They were joined by Kabang Kalikasan ng Pilipinas (WWF-Philippines) president Jose Lorenzo Tan, country director for Conservation International Romy Trono, Atty. Gerthie Mayo-Anda of Environmental Legal Asistance Center, executive director of Palawan NGO Network Inc. Atty Bobby Chan, Tanggol Kalikasan executive director Atty. Rolly Bisquera–Sheen, Alyansa Tigil Mina national coordinator Jaybee Garganera and various leaders of the environmental movement in the country. The ten million signature campaign came about after the killing of Dr. Gerardo “Doc Gerry” Ortega, a civic leader who championed the protection of Palawan’s rich biodiversity and an outspoken critic of mining operations in Palawan.

Pres. Aquino vs CJ Corona
If respect is an issue here then I believed the president did nothing wrong. Why? The former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and the Chief Justice Renato Corona never show that to now President Aquino. Days after the 2010 Elections, the former president appointed Corona as the 23rd Chief Justice of the Philippines. Why such an act? Why not give the honor to the incoming president of appointing the Chief Justice with the help of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP)? Respect begets respect.
Of course I wanted the executive and judiciary branches of our country to work harmoniously for the benefit of the country but how will it happen if everything started in bad taste. Can we blame the president for mentioning the midnight appointment during the summit if from the start of his presidency he was deprived of appointing his Chief Justice, a true disrespectful act? Can we blame a president if he blatantly criticized the Supreme Court for questionable decisions or unattended jobs?
The Filipino people are thirsty for righteous leaders, someone who will fight for their rights and keep his promise. Many government agencies are used to wrongdoings and abuse of powers brought about by the former government. I guess that’s the reason why many Filipinos see nothing wrong about the justice summit incident.
If Chief Justice Renato Corona values transparency, justice and respect over the laws of the land then he will resign from his post. He from the very start had the choice of accepting or not the appointment but even if he did there still time to think it over. His resignation will not only give peace between the executive and judiciary branches of the land but an honorable act and a righteous example of a “diplomatic sacrifice” for love of country.
The people’s reaction over this issue must serve as a warning to other members of the Supreme Court. Being members of the highest court in the land, it is your utmost responsibility to interpret the laws in its essence and render decisions righteously and with all integrity apart from affiliations, interest or personal grudge.
