Justin @ 1

piZap.com free online photo editor, fun photo effects

I am sorting the files of all our pictures in the hard disc when I encountered this batch of pictures during my son Justin's 1st birthday celebration at then Max's Restaurant in San Mateo. Time really flies and after 5 years he is now tall, still handsome, naughty and wacky but still sweet and charming. I used PIZAP to edit the pictures.

Slice N' Dice @ Montalban Town Center

The family is so happy when our municipality opens our very own “Montalban Town Center.” It might not be as big as a mall but we do appreciate having a place where the locals can stroll, shop, dine in and enjoy. One of the restaurants we tried is the Slice N’ Dice that offers grilled steak for less. The family tried Steak ala Pobre, Garlick Pork Tenderloin, Creamy Dory Fillet and Porkloin Steak Rice. The food is great and if you are interested to get a franchise of it click here.

PIZAP: Free online photo editor

I was browsing my Facebook profile when a photo of a friend caught my attention. It’s not the photo actually but the presentation so I checked on the website of the photo editor. PIZAP is a free online photo editor where you can edit your pictures in easy steps and no need for you to sign up. I am not a techie guy but I find the editing very easy.

Alleged cop torture caught on cellphone video

This is such a very disturbing video showing how a criminal is being tortured by a police officer in Asuncion, Tondo Manila. Of course their doings are bad but I guess such treatment is so absurd for whether alleged or convicted criminals. I just hope that the media will follow through the developments of this issue and that the PNP will do the necessary action to discipline their men.

Basmati Rice by Reynoso-Gala family

I never tried Basmati rice for the family but the Reynoso-Gala family of Pampanga gave me an idea to cook this special rice with a twist. They made their own version of cooking Basmati rice by adding pandan leaves, estrellas or star anise and coconut milk to bring out that rich Filipino flavor. “Bas” in Hindi language means “aroma” and “Mati” means “full of”; hence, the word “Basmati” means “full of aroma.”

Wanted: Gasoline station boys & grocery staff in Dubai

A company based in Dubai, EMIRATES PETROLEUM PRODUCTS COMPANY or EPPCO, is in need of Filipino workers who are high school graduates or those who have not finished college. The company has 170 gasoline stations in the United Arab Emirates and 1,373 of their 4,000 employees are Filipinos. They need 700 Pinoy workers who will be assigned as gasoline station attendants and staff of a convenient store in Dubai.

Representatives of the company will start the recruitment in Metro Manila and Cebu on August 15. Potential applicants must be hard working, can speak English and know how to get along with customers. The employer prefers applicants who are between 20 to 28 years old and must have a one-year experience for the position they are applying for.

The CDK International Manpower Recruitment Agency located at the Midland Plaza Hotel in Ermita, Manila will receive the papers of interested applicants. The applicants will shoulder an estimated P5,000 for documentation, medical and other fees before they fly to Dubai. The workers need not pay placement and visa fees and their travel expenses will be shouldered by the company. Once there, the workers are provided with free accommodation and transport service.

Meanwhile, the recruitment firm said there are other jobs like party hosts, balloon decorators, teachers, hair dressers and technicians, waiting for Filipinos between 29-35 years of age.

President Noynoy's first paycheck

President Noynoy Aquino just received his first paycheck for the month of July last Monday, August 2, as the president of the country amounting to 63,002.17 pesos. It is his net income following the mandatory salary deductions.

This is the first time for me to see a president showing his paycheck in public. To think that the job of a president is really a tough one, demanding and stressful, there are really few good people who want to show that even in this time there are still trustworthy public servants who can still live by example.

I just wish you Mr. President all the best and luck in this world that you will someday fulfill all the good things and changes you want for our country with the help of the Filipino people.
