I was not able to watch “The Buzz” last Sunday but I saw in SNN the replay of Piolo Pascual’s interview Monday night admitting their relationship. The special day was October 21, 2010. It seems that Papa P (Piolo Pascual) wants to warn those guys eyeing KC Concepcion that she is taken already.

Rabusa on former AFP chiefs' anomalies

Since the issue about the 50 million pesos send-off money allegedly received by former AFP Chief of Staff Angelo Reyes came out, I can’t help but pity the ordinary police, navy and soldier who are always endangering their lives every day of their duty and yet higher officials are like lying in the bed of money that supposedly be evenly distributed to the institution as a whole. As this issue becomes bigger than before, were the Magdalo and marine stand-off justified?

If all these allegations are properly supported with hard evidence, I salute former military budget officer George Rabusa for divulging the information so that the government can make stern measures to protect the institution’s money. President Aquino has a lot of things to do when it comes to corruption. It seems that it is big and deeply rooted in many agencies of the government.

I just can’t help but ask myself how accounting is being done on the money in different government agencies and institutions. So sad to think that money is the reason for many people to aspire for public office. Personally, I don’t believe that money is the root of all evil. It is the evil that lies within oneself that make him to do evil.

Super proud Mommy

January is the Academic Week in my daughter’s school, St. Matthew College. Her Math teacher chose her to be one of the contestants for Math Quiz Bee last January 25 and she was able to bag the 1st Place. Right now she is preparing for the second elimination round of MTAP-Rizal (Division Level) together with her classmate Patricia Sioson for Grade 4 Level. Their team was able to pass the first elimination round last January 13 at Taytay Elementary School bagging the 6th Rank from the Top 10.

On January 27, they had their Speech Fest 2011 and she was a contestant in the Tula and Declamation contests. She had “Gumising Ka, Pilipino” and “The Two Standards” as her pieces respectively. She was able to get the 1st Place in the Tula but nothing in the declamation contest. She was a bit confused and frustrated after not winning in the declamation contest. But after hearing good words from her fellow students and teachers as well fade away those questions and looking forward again on her next Speech Fest.

Seeing my daughter on stage performing and competing really made me feel so good, happy and proud of her. She always like to compete and really active at school activities. I’ve been hearing good things from teachers about her, as a student and as a person. I just always told her that to give her best in any simple and big thing she does at school. Being chosen is already something to be happy and proud of and winning may come or not.

My hearty congratulations baby! Keep up the good work. Continue accomplishing many things in life as many as you can especially your dreams. We’re always here for you.

DANICA FLORES MAGPANTAY bagged the 2011 Ford Supermodel of the World title and received $250,000 modeling contract with Ford Models. She was announced the winner of this prestigious title in New York on Saturday followed by Lithuania, Poland, Brazil and Estonia. Simplifying annulment in the Philippines

House Bill 3952 (An Act Recognizing Spousal Violence, Infidelity and Abandonment as Presumptive Psychological Incapacity Constituting a Ground for the Annulment of Marriage) authored by Bayan Muna Representative Neri Colmenares was created hoping that it will make annulment more accessible even to poor couples. As compared to a 10-year renewable marriage contract, I preferred this kind of bill in resolving troubled marriages. Under HB 3952, infidelity, abandonment or spousal violence is presumed indications of psychological incapacity. On the other hand, Atty. Evalyn Ursua disagrees and such is disputable by presenting contrary evidence.

Kind of busy with so many personal things to attend too.. as a daughter, a wife and a mother. Ask for more? No more. I don’t have even an ample time for myself just to finish things I need to get done. I need to assist my widow mother in her business while doing my obligations as a wife and a mom. My 10 year old daughter has many activities this month in her school plus she is reviewing for the second elimination round of MTAP for Rizal. My boy has not much school activity than his sister so thanks God for that.

At times I wanted to take a break, even for a week in a place like a hotel where I will just sleep, eat, relax while watching TV. Wishful thinking! Hoping that wish comes true. But nonetheless, I know and understand how life goes and I just want to accomplish as many as I could and do hope my love ones will understand my shortfalls. Kind of sentimental here.

Global Gutz wins Asia Cup 2011

GLOBAL GUTZ PHILIPPINE PAINTBALL TEAM won the championship trophy in the recently concluded ASIA CUP 2011 PAINTBALL TOURNAMENT held at Sukan Complex, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

The three day competition which started last January 14 to 16, 2011 was participated by around 40 teams from Asian region including the Global Gutz Philippine Paintball Team owned and managed by Businessman Sonny Torres.

Team work and coordination was the key to the group’s success, though the Team Captain Mario Tuano admitted that all the competing teams were of equal capabilities. Aside from the trophy, the team brought home some 200,000 thousand pesos cash incentive from the Malaysian Paintball Academy (MAPAAC), the organizer of the Asia Cup 2011 Paintball Tournament.

Global Gutz Philippine Paintball Team is expected to be back in Malaysia by the month of May 2011 to defend the title.

SMC 3rd Grading Reading of Honors

After the MTAP Elimination Round for Rizal where Nicole and her classmate Patricia advanced to the next round together with SMC representatives from Grades 1,2,5 and 6, today happened to be the Reading of Honors for the 3rd Quarter. Nicole seems to be reaping the fruits of her hard labor because she got the overall Rank 1 for Grade 4 Level. One quarter remains and the Year-End Recognition is another exciting event for her to look forward too. But of course she knows the MTAP 2nd round comes first on February 10 and we need to study hard and be prepared for it.

Congratulations baby! I know sometimes mommy is hard on you, pushing you to the limit of giving your best when it comes to your education but you know my reasons why. Mommy can help you at times but you owe much to yourself so that you can reach your goals in life.

Nicole joins MTAP 2011 Elimination Round for Rizal

My daughter Nicole was chosen as one of the representatives (Grade 4 Level) of her school for the coming MTAP Elimination Round for Rizal on January 13. We were kind of excited and nervous at the same time because it was kind of short notice. I just told my daughter not to pressure herself, just try to study her book and some reference materials. There are some topics she was not familiar with but I’m trying to tutor her.

I am planning to watch the said activity to support her and let her know that I am one of the proud mommies in the crowd. Good luck baby!

Jan. 2 STAR tollway accident

A collision between a passenger bus, passenger jeepney and a car happened afternoon of January 2 at Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR) tollway in Ibaan town, Batangas province and instantly killed 7 people, including 3 minors. Gasat Express with plate number TYK-287 tried to overtake a black Nissan Sentra car with plate number SFB-447 but unfortunately rammed into the oncoming passenger jeepney.
