The employer prefers applicants who are between 20 to 28 years old and must have a one-year experience for the position they are applying for.

The CDK International Manpower Recruitment Agency located at the Midland Plaza Hotel in Ermita, Manila will receive the papers of interested applicants. President Noynoy's first paycheck

President Noynoy Aquino just received his first paycheck for the month of July last Monday, August 2, as the president of the country amounting to 63,002.17 pesos. It is his net income following the mandatory salary deductions.

This is the first time for me to see a president showing his paycheck in public. To think that the job of a president is really a tough one, demanding and stressful, there are really few good people who want to show that even in this time there are still trustworthy public servants who can still live by example.

I just wish you Mr. President all the best and luck in this world that you will someday fulfill all the good things and changes you want for our country with the help of the Filipino people.

Cory Aquino's 1st Death Anniversary

It’s been 1 year after our “Mother of Democracy” former President Cory Aquino died. There are several ways where people especially the Aquino Family commemorate her 1st Death Anniversary. I still remember the day when the late president has been transported to her final resting place. The outpouring of love and farewell of so many people, who went out of their homes, patiently waited on the streets just to see her and bid their goodbyes. Many cried as if they lose their own mother. But I guess that’s Tita Cory, a true Filipino and a loving mother to all of us and our country.

PAL pilots exodus

The 13 pilots and the 12 first officers might be facing criminal and administrative charges if they will not comply with the PAL management order to return to work in 7 days. They did not follow the 180-day notice and heavily affecting the scheduled flights. Among the 25 resigned pilots, only 2 have complied with the 5 years of work as required to those who underwent PAL training.

Personally, this happening really affects so much those passengers especially those who needs to attend to important matters and it has a bad impact in the tourism aspect of the country. There’s nothing wrong if we are looking for a better pay but rules are rules and airlines can be considered as a public service. Follow the rules and if there are problems with CBA or any agreement a communication is needed not to drag other people into the problem.

I just hope that the talk between the government, PAL management and employees will turn out good for everybody.

After-sales bad experience

I have a reporter friend who emailed me his bad experience after buying a SIGMA 70-300 APO-DG Lens. He bought it in Hong Kong last June 27, 2010. Two weeks after, the AUTO FOCUS malfunctioned. The JT photo world service center of SIGMA LENS refused to honor the international warranty card issued by SIGMA LENS INC. until receipt or any proof of purchased has been presented. The rest is part of the email and I quote:

“In the first place who would expect that the SIGMA LENS AUTO FOCUS will malfunction in so short period of time and worst I need to pay 2,800 pesos for the defect. I should have listened to the advice of my photographer friend from INQUIRER that sigma lens normally has hidden defects. Imagine two weeks after the purchase date the auto focus malfunctioned and the service center did not honor the international warranty card.”
Sometimes the after-sales service really disappoints customers. They will make good promises for customers to buy their products and yet during defect and trouble times you will find yourself spending additional bucks for broken promises.
