Electronic Dalaw (e-dalaw) of BJMP

The "Electronic Dalaw" (e-Dalaw) program of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) - Quezon City Jail was launched to help inmates contact their friends or relatives without leaving the jail. This has a great advantage especially for inmates with families living far away from the jail to keep connected.

This program is a project of  Quezon City Jail Warden Supt. Joseph T. Vela and Assistant Solicitor General Karl Miranda and Quezon City serves as the pilot jail of this project and will be introduced to other jail facilities in the country.

The Quezon City Jail has provided five computers, with software application Skype, enabling inmates to make voice and video calls, as well as chat with their loved ones. Each inmate is allowed only five minutes of Skype use daily. Inmates should line up while waiting for his or her relatives or friends to be on-line before entry to the Internet room. Moreover, inmates can use Skype only from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Relatives of inmates who want to avail themselves of Skype calls must make a request one week before the intended call and must send an email request at skypemeinjailqc@yahoo.com, indicate the time and date when call will be made, and full name of inmate to be called.
