Patrol 117 in the Philippines

What is PATROL 117 in the Philippines? It is the local version of the popular rescue hotline 911 in the United States. Patrol 117 is the nationwide emergency hotline number in the Philippines wherein people can just direct dial 117 from any cell phone or landline, even from provinces. The emergency dispatcher will immediately connect to the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection or the Red Cross depending on the caller’s needs.

In the recent RAMGEN BAUTISTA murder incident, a friend of the victims in the name of WENDELL CUNANAN called Patrol 117 after receiving a text from JANELLE MANAHAN (victim’s girlfriend) stating the incident and that they need police assistance and an ambulance so that they will be taken to the hospital. The emergency dispatcher coordinated the call to ParaƱaque police and barangay officials of BF Homes, ParaƱaque.

The saddest part of it is that there are people who are making prank calls to Patrol 117. Let us understand the importance of this hotline and give way to people’s call who really in need of assistance. By not doing so you will be helping them save more lives and attends to the incident immediately.
