Beef Cordon Bleu Recipe

My mom usually has this dish every Sto. Niño Fiesta (month of January). She always has it catered by a dear friend from San Juan and there's a chicken version of it too. Really yummy and we also try it during family affairs.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 kilo beef tenderloin
  • 4 slices swiss or cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices cooked ham
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • salt and pepper to taste
Cooking procedures:

Slice beef into 4 equal sizes, make a pocket in steak for filling. Season beef lightly. Lay a slice of cheese and ham inside the steak. Seal edges. Dredge in flour, dip in egg, roll in bread crumbs. Fry in butter for about 4-6 minutes on each side. Garnish and serve.
